The pathology specimens shown here were originally cataloged by Dr. Horton Johnson, the former Chairman of Pathology at Tulane.

Dr. Jonston collected the cases as reviews using 3M Six Twenty Five Sound on Slide Automatic Playback Projector. All the slides, and most of the commentaries that accompany them are originally Dr. Johnson's.

After Dr. Johnson retired, the slides were almost discarded, but they were saved from the trash and stored by Cesar Fermin , Professor of Pathology at Tulane.

Dr. Fermin contacted James Harrison, the Director of Medical Informatics at Tulane, about the possibility of turning the old slides into a web-based tutorial.

Dr. Harrison recruited and trained Robert McLay , a post-doc and medical student at Tulane. Dr. McLay digitized the old slides, transcribed the old commentaries, added new commentaries, and designed and wrote the code for these web pages.

These pages were reviewed and edited by James Harrison , Cesar Fermin by the Pathology Faculty at Tulane University School of Medicine. Editors contributing comments include:
