Tulane Gross Pathology Tutorial

Welcome to the pathology tutorial. This page is designed to help students identify tissues and specimens in pathology. Additional material is available from the PATHOLOGY course at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Students within the Tulane network are also able to review subjects in HISTOLOGY or ANATOMY .

This tutorial is provided as a free service to the medical community, both inside and outside Tulane. Please do not reproduce material without proper citation.

Pathology Specimens

THIS TUTORIAL IS AS OF YET UNEDITED. FEAL FREE TO LOOK AT OR USE THE IMAGES, BUT BE CAREFUL WITH THE TEXT. THERE MAY BE ERRORS, SOME OF THEM SERIOUS. SOME IMAGES MAY BE LINKED TO THE WRONG TEXT.

Pathological specimens for each category are shown along with brief descriptions of the tissues. At the moment this tutorial is set up so that each case displays on its own page. If you wish to compare two cases simultaneously, don't forget that almost all browsers can display more than one page at a time. (In Netscape, select a new window from under the "files" menu.)

Each category contains photographic examples, which can be viewed in series or by picking individual cases. Most cases include commentary on the disease, although some commentaries are still under construction .
